EVE / Axis / 3 explores the body more directly, reducing the architectural structure of the previous Axis looks into a long, asymmetric silhouette. Cut in white linen, the dress follows the figure through controlled gathering and soft irregular folds, allowing the natural texture of the fabric to become part of the composition. Linen’s characteristic balance between structure and natural drape is particularly suited to this tension between a close silhouette and freer suspended panels.
The asymmetric one-shoulder construction exposes one side of the body while extending the opposite side into a dramatic sleeve and cascading outer panel. Black sections interrupt the white linen with large graphic fields rather than conventional trim, punctuated by red geometric forms and linear white markings. A small black square at the upper chest acts as a deliberately restrained counterpoint to the larger graphics below.
Rather than treating the sleeve and outer panels as separate decoration, Axis III allows them to fall almost to the floor, creating a second silhouette around the fitted central dress. As the wearer moves, the graphic surfaces open, overlap and disappear, shifting the composition between black, white and red. The elongated black cord necklace reinforces the vertical axis without competing with the asymmetric neckline.
The coordinating sculptural conical hat completes the composition. Its enlarged black, white and red geometry echoes the garment while transforming the figure into a single continuous graphic object. Where Axis 1 emphasizes sculptural volume and Axis 2 introduces a cinched robe-like construction, Axis 3 is the most body-conscious interpretation of the Axis language so far—using asymmetry, drape and controlled exposure to create its architecture.
